BMW 1602 Agave Green

Sold new in Portugal, and with us since 2017, it was love at first sight and drive, because it was mechanically flawless, very smooth to drive, no parasit noises at all, very clean and maintained interior, with interesting original bmw extras like the rev counter and the 2002tii clock, all signs that it had been well taken care during it’s life and that the kms showed at the odometer were probably real. Body was very straight solid, with original paint showing some scratches and a little sun burns here and there, reason why we decided to advance in 2018 to a quality respray on the outer áreas and booth (A lot of pictures available from the before and after).

This is a VN chassis, meanining “Vendas Novas”, the portuguese town where some 02 were assembled from CKD kits (completely knocked down) that were sent from Germany.
The cars are exactly the same as the german assembled ones, except for some few components that were made in Portugal to accomplish a law from that period that allowed brands to produce in portugal and avoid some heavy import limitations, if some parts were made in Portugal. In the case of the BMW 02, we are talking about window glasses (all branded “covina” instead of “duroglass”, except for the small opening triangular ones at the front door), seats (made by “molaflex”, a still existing portuguese brand), tyres (branded Mabor General or Firestone Portugal), and battery, (branded “tudor”).
